"I know it's best sometimes to keep things simple, but I've recently been thinking about how fun it would be to emulate another blogger's style that is very much so out of our comfort zone. It could be a blogger within or outside of the the OMCZ group, but I know there are plenty of bloggers out there whose style I love but have not dared to wear."
In one word, her look is "polished". If you consult the thesaurus on this word, you will find synonyms such as "gloss", "luster", "sheen", "sparkle", "smoothness". Like any good branding, everything about her look is an extension of that concept. Her hair, though curly, is glossy and smooth. The manicured nails and structured bag (or stiff envelope clutch) are just another of her immaculately paired accessories. There is nothing over the top about her style, but she is far from plain Jane. Classic lines and quality basics with her eye for the aesthetic make her the Jackie O of modern fashion blogging. What is the most valuable lesson to learn from her blog is not what she wears, but how she wears it. She appears so effortless in her skin. Her outfits are made through this unaffected confidence she exudes through simply standing in all of her elegance.

DeleteVery cute! I love your hair :-) It is shiny and "polished" indeed xx
ReplyDeleteHaha, thank you! I've been using a new leave-in conditioner from Neutrogena lately and I think it helps with dryness.
DeleteThis is a really pretty outfit! It reminds me a little bit of Wednesday Addams, which is a compliment as I love her monochrome style.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right! The moment I read your comment I realized that with a scowl and braided pigtails I could be the adult version of Wednesday with this outfit. Too funny.
Deletelove the outfit, you've achieved exactly what you've written x
ReplyDeleteVicky, thanks! I came across your blog a while back and follow it on feedly. Glad you found me!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit. Girl with Curves is one of my favourite blogs to read and I take a lot of inspiration from her outfits, she always looks so well put together!
