My Friday, Your Monday

These past few weeks have been abnormal for me. Without sharing too much of my personal life in a public forum, this past week Mr. BD and I travelled to Kentucky for a family funeral. We made the drive from North Carolina to Kentucky Friday after boarding our dog, who we shall call B-Dog (short for Baxter) and drove back after the funeral on Saturday. We were home for a day and a half, then made the drive from North Carolina to Georgia where we are currently spending our July 4th holiday. I worked a full day Monday, but because we won't be returning to North Carolina until Saturday afternoon, I treated it as my Friday (I also realize this is not Monday, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this outfit). Fridays are casual in my office (read: blue jeans). I wanted to be somewhat professional but still felt like being a little casual.

The compromise? A flirty skirt with a plain tee, flats, and my go-everywhere tote! Both the tee and skirt are cotton, making it perfect for humid summers in the south. 

I am really excited about this skirt. As a recent convert to Dorothy Perkins, I have been trolling their site drooling over every single article of clothing! I found this skirt a month back and had been keeping a close eye on it. DP recently had a 20% off sale and with an additional 15% off coupon I got this skirt for significantly less than I expected.
