Day & Night

I don't often go straight from work to a night out, but it is convenient to be able to transition a piece from day to night without having to change my whole outfit.

I found this jacket in a thrift store several weeks ago and have been trying to pair it with things in my closet. The dress itself is just too revealing for work, no matter how casual my office is, but once I discovered I could stick these two together, I couldn't believe the result! This outfit is cool enough for summer, modest enough for work, and trendy enough for my age.

To make the change from work to play, I just swapped out accessories. This dress is more green than turquoise, but I loved the combo last week with the wrap dress and just couldn't resist.

About this dress. I've had it for several weeks now, and I'm just on the fence with how I feel about it. It's not that it is too short, or even that it is too tight. There is something about the way this silhouette looks on my body. It makes me feel, well, vulnerable. I wore it to dinner recently and got several compliments on it, but I'm still not sure that I'm confident enough to strut my stuff in this dress.

How do you make the transition from work to a night out?
